Oh dear, has it really been since November that I updated? So many things have changed in our lives since then.
December was an extremely busy month, despite my thoughts I would take time off! Finishing up orders, new frames (sooo fun) and my oldest turned SEVEN the day after Christmas! Yes, he has a December 26th birthday and we work hard to make it special and separate from the holidays.
Coming off the fun and beauty of Christmas and Sam’s birthday, however, we suffered a blow to our family, and it has been a slow and difficult recovery. On December 30th, our first “child”, Cinder the black lab, began suffering from what appeared to be strokes. It was awful. She seemed to lose control of her right side, was confused, unable to balance, and scared. And it was heartbreaking for us to watch. On New Years Eve, we made an appointment for her to be seen, and given her orthopedic history (severe hip dysplasia), her signs, and her ability to no longer even stand, we decided to send her over the Rainbow Bridge. I think the fact that I felt compelled to photograph her for our 2009 holiday card says that deep down, I knew something was wrong. But it just became painfully obvious on December 30th.
We have been slowly coming out of our fog since then. Cinder would have been 11 years old in February, and walking out of the vet’s office with two sobbing children, her collar, and an empty leash was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in a very long time. It still makes me cry, thinking about it. But we were there with her as she passed, and she was surrounded by a family that loved her ever so deeply.
But life does go on, and we continue to heal. Her pal Zola, our Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, has been grieving her loss, and is not fond of when we all leave the house. I’ve honestly had a hard time changing up the studio, because my last photo shoot was with Cinder in there. But we live with fond memories in our hearts, and know she is at peace and no longer hurting.
I have some other news about great new orthopedic photo products I will be offering soon, but it really deserves its own post. Once the details are finalized, I will post this amazing new offering, Until then, please give your furry friends a hug for us.

This handsome bunch stopped over today for a session and I am just smiling thinking about the level of activity we had between all of us
The three older boys – what a sweet, polite and genuinely nice bunch. And truly caring about their younger cousins…along with being the entertainment committee! And the younger two kiddos who are also brothers – hilarious antics! Mr. Two found all my studio clips, my little “helper” bag, and was such a ham with all the furniture and things to look at! What a great age – so independent, so curious, and so determined. Love it! And the littlest guy – oh my, those little arms, legs, feet and soft fuzzy head. Adorable! So here is a sneak peek at some of the images from today – enjoy!

This ATA family has been working hard to achieve their black belts and also for mom and dad to become State Champs. To celebrate, we did a photo shoot to honor their accomplishments – what fun! I loved working with you and really enjoyed seeing all that you can do. Keep up the great work
Love it! This family doesn’t mess around

Thank you to all my clients and family\friends for your support this year. It’s been a fantastic year for Limesmile Images and I am so thankful you were all a part of it!
With the holidays quickly approaching, I am now booked for the weekends and only have a few limited weeknight sessions available. They are going fast though, so if you are considering an appointment, please contact me now so you can get the time slot you need. Next week (Thanksgiving week), I will not be taking any additional appointments to ensure all of your proofing galleries get completed and prints and cards are ordered. If you have a pending date from me, please contact me to confirm that date – thanks!
Did this holiday season just sneak right up or what? I can hardly believe next week is Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a wonderful Turkey Day.
And remember, January is the kickoff month for my new frames, so if you saw them at the boutique and want one, I will be offering discounts on the frames to celebrate the new year.

This family was such fun to photograph :) They were game for anything, and we had so many fun ideas and a GREAT morning at the park! Then we came back and took some portraits in the studio – oh how fun it was to put on holiday music and talk about Santa! And afterwards, the kids got to play with their cousins (my kids) so all was well.
I hope you all enjoy your sneak peek!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

These two are quite a pair! They are also dear friends and oddly, this is the first time we’ve done photographs together. Mostly it is kid play and adult chatting so this was really a special treat for all of us.
When we talked about this session, we wanted to do something that represented their special bond, and one of those things is reading. If you are a parent, you know how special these times are to read to and with your child – truly, it is a gift!
We started out by asking him to look at the light when it blinked, and got some great expressions – and she very much loves the photojournalistic style, so many images represent them interacting, rather than posed portraits. Better yet, jammies and storytime – THE best!
It was such a pleasure, and might I add, even better that the Vikings beat the Packers that day! WOO! {Happy Dance}

Oh my goodness – I meant to post this earlier – thanks for waiting!
So this little guy is one. What a fun age! He is celebrating his first birthday, and he is such a ham. I love when they begin to crawl, and stand, and display their personality! Sooo many expressions! We also had a great time with some family photos – don’t they look like a beautiful family? Enjoy your sneak peek!

Here’s a holiday card idea

Definitely had to save the cake for last – bathtime!

What a great way to start off Halloween – dressing up as an angel, then a tutu, spending time with mom and dad, and looking so beautiful. I had a wonderful time meeting you all – thank you so much! Here are just a couple of your sneak peeks – I will hopefully add more tomorrow for you

I knew when I got this little couch modeled after the interior of a ‘57 Chevy, it was going to work perfectly with this family. They are, after all, true Chevy fans
I have watched these kiddos as they’ve grown, and it’s been amazing to continue to take their portraits. Look at the little guy being all hot stuff on the couch!
Thanks for a wonderful morning, and I hope you love your sneak peek!

Strollin’ down Bourbon Street, lookin’ so relaxed…
